Our Commitment

Let There Be Light Christian Residential Academy ("LTBL," "we," "us," or "our") exists to restore vulnerable children and prepare them for lives of God-given purpose. Trust is not incidental to that mission, it is a condition of it. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, how we protect it, and the choices you have.
This policy applies to our website, our giving platform, our Founding Interest Registry, our volunteer application, and any other way you interact with LTBL online.

What We Collect
Information you give us directly

• Contact details: name, email address, phone number, mailing address

• Registry and application information: your relationship to a child (parent, guardian, referring party), a child's age, location, and any message you include when registering interest or referring a child

• Volunteer application details: area of interest, availability, background, and any information you provide in support of your application

• Giving information: donation amount, frequency, and payment details, processed through our payment processor (see "Third Parties" below)

• Newsletter subscription: your email address

• Anything you send us directly by email, phone, or contact form

Information collected automatically

• Standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, and pages visited, collected through our website hosting platform and any analytics tools we use

• Cookies, used to keep the site functioning properly and to understand how visitors use it. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
   

Why We Collect It
We use the information above to:

• Respond to registry submissions, volunteer applications, referrals, and general inquiries

• Contact families and educators as enrolment opens

• Process donations and send tax-deductible giving receipts

• Send the updates, founder videos, and milestones you've subscribed to receive

• Evaluate volunteer applications, including background and safeguarding checks required for roles working with children

• Understand how our website is used, so we can improve it

• Meet our legal, financial, and safeguarding obligations as a child-serving organization

We do not sell your information. We do not use it for anything beyond the purposes above without asking you first.

Information About Children
LTBL's mission is centered on children, and information about children reaches us primarily through parents, guardians, and referring adults, not directly from children themselves. We collect a child's age and general circumstances only where necessary to evaluate a referral, registry submission, or eventual enrolment, and we handle this information with the same safeguarding standard we apply to every part of our operation.
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through this website. If you believe a child has provided us with information directly, contact us at the address below and we will address it.

Third Parties
We share information only where it is necessary to operate:​

• Payment processors handle payment card and banking details directly; LTBL does not store your full payment card information

• Service providers who host our website, send our email communications, and manage our giving platform, bound to use your information only to provide those services

• Government and regulatory bodies, including Jamaica's Ministry of Education and Youth and the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA), where required by law or necessary to a child's safety and wellbeing

We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

International Data
LTBL operates across Jamaica and the United States, and your information may be processed in either location depending on how you interact with us. Wherever your information is processed, we apply the protections described in this policy.

How Long We Keep Information
We keep information for as long as it serves the purpose it was collected for, plus any period required by law, tax, or safeguarding obligations. Registry submissions that do not lead to enrolment, and volunteer applications that do not lead to a role, are retained only as long as reasonably useful before being securely deleted.

Your Choices

• Unsubscribe from our email updates at any time using the link in any email we send

• Ask us what information we hold about you, and request that we correct or delete it, subject to any legal or safeguarding obligation that requires us to retain it

• Withdraw a registry submission or volunteer application at any time by contacting us directly

Security
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information you share with us. No system is entirely without risk, and we treat data protection as an ongoing responsibility rather than a one-time task.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our operations grow, particularly as we move from formation toward our January 2027 founding launch. We will post the current version here with its last-updated date.
